The required path depends on the source and target builds. Review compatibility, configuration and content needs before assuming an in-place change or a new build is suitable.
Can existing content and URLs be kept?
They can be inventoried and included in the scope. Field mapping, relationships and redirect checks make any changes visible; preservation should be verified with representative pages.
What should editors test?
Creating a representative item, attaching files, reviewing it and publishing under the intended role. Include a rejected or incomplete draft and the relevant access restrictions.
